Goldie aka Kodak Jonez is a Hip Hop artist, producer, and audio engineer and the founder of Up Your Game Entertainment (UYGE). While Goldie represents the artist side of the journey, Kodak Jonez was created as a separate producer identity to distinguish music creation from the business side of production and engineering.
Long before online marketplaces made original beats easily accessible, Goldie began recording music using instrumentals found online. While those tracks allowed creativity and development as an artist, they came with limitations. Without ownership and licensing rights, there was no clear path to commercial use or larger opportunities.
Rather than accepting those limitations, he invested in recording equipment and software and began learning production from the ground up. What started as a need for original music gradually evolved into producing beats, recording, and engineering.
Through online courses, books, guides, and years of hands-on experience, the process expanded beyond creating music into understanding how sound itself works. Over time, that growth became Up Your Game Entertainment (UYGE).
UYGE was never intended to operate as a traditional label. Instead, it was built as a creative support system that gives artists options. Whether someone simply needs a beat, requires mixing and mastering, or wants support on a larger project, the focus remains on helping artists move forward while maintaining flexibility and ownership.
One principle that remains important is originality. Kodak Jonez takes pride in creating music without relying on samples. The goal has always been to create from creativity rather than borrow from it — building something original from the ground up.
